It is used here in it's plain ordinary English definition "one of the groups that people can be divided into based on certain physical qualities (such as skin color)".

A person's "race" is larger than their "group" or "progeny", but smaller than "mankind" or "life", so it fits into the sequence in that sense. I think that's the main reason it's used here.

The idea here is expanding areas of life. An individual has an urge to survive through all these things. "race" in this usage is no more important than any of the other things mentioned.

Sorry it caused you distress. Have you been the victim of racial prejudice? Is that why you got hung up on that word?Grahamehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05391080535858750246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5821489.post-91847488359034163322012-03-02T21:41:21.428-05:002012-03-02T21:41:21.428-05:00"When the individual is acting contrary to th..."When the individual is acting contrary to the survival of himself, his group, progeny, race, mankind or life, he can be considered to be unintelligent, uninformed or aberrated."

The inclusion of race is interesting. What would the Scientology definition of race be in this context? It sounds like blatant racial nationalism.Solomon Kullhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05193601051846876349noreply@blogger.com
