Here is a piece about Tom Cruise and his success with the Study Technology developed by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard: Cruise credits Scientology for his success
Just to clarify a couple of things from the article: a) the Study Technology is secular, it is not religious in nature. b) the "having an object you are studying" described in the article is only one small part of the Study Technology. The site is quite large, so I've not had a chance to check it all out, but it looks fascinating: ePolitix.com - Hubbard Foundation
Scientology Assists are techniques developed by L. Ron Hubbard. They operate on the principle that one tends to withdraw mentally or spiritually from an injured area. Only by restoring communication with this area can one bring the spiritual element into healing, thereby greatly speeding the healing process. Assists are used to alleviate stress and physical aches and pains, or to orient a confused or distraught individual to his present environment. The article below is about how Tom Cruise made such assists available to the crew on the set of his latest movie "War of the Worlds"
