Universal Declaration of Human Rights
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a vital document to the future of our world. Read it and you will see that if the governments of the world followed this document to the letter, we would not be seeing the types of unrest that are occurring in the world today. Terrorists are created by oppression and ignorance. If the money spent on wars and weapons were directed toward implementing every part of the UDHR in every country in the world terrorism would disappear.

The Use of Force
I was listening to a recorded lecture of L. Ron Hubbard today and he said something which I think applies to many world situations and the methods being used to handle them. He said that the use of overwhelming force only gives a short-term win but never gives a long-term win.
I thought how right that was: just look at Iraq, the US "won" the war but is still trying to extricate itself from the mess.
In the same lecture Mr. Hubbard talked about long-term wins coming from the intelligent use of intelligence combined with force (intelligence as in cleverness, not spies). The American Revolution was an excellent example of that.

Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Suri
As well as being the best known movie star in the world, Tom Cruise is also the best known Scientologist in the world. Being the world's biggest movie star however is not the easy life some might think. The gutter press just loves to make up stories and create controversies about non-existent things. I think the founding fathers of America must be spinning in their graves when they hear "freedom of speech" being used as a justification for spreading rumors and malicious gossip.
Well now at last Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have been given a chance to have their say about all the recent media nonsense about their baby, Suri. (This link will probably take you to a different story in about a month). A major interview with Tom and Katie appears in the next issue of Vanity Fair. I hope people read it and start to realize how inaccurate and dishonest much of the media is today.

Free versus Forced Society
It is very important that, despite threats from terrorists and totalitarian governments, we keep our civil rights and human rights in place. In America we live in a free society and it is vital that it stays that way. As L. Ron Hubbard said:
One never observes the forced individual doing a job well, just as one never observes a forced society winning against an equally prosperous free society.
