Doctors Support Tom Cruise's Position on Brook Shields and Paxil

Medical doctors have come out in support of the position taken by Tom Cruise when he criticized Brook Shields for promoting the antidepressant Paxil as a treatment for Post Partum Depression (PPD). In fact the FDA has issued a warning that adults who use antidepressants could be at risk of suicidal behavior. One doctor bluntly stated that PPD is not a mental disorder but a physical problem and that treating PPD with antidepressants is very dangerous. Added to this are the well established finding that the majority of so called mental disorders (such as anxiety disorder and depression) stem from a physical problem (such as under-active thyroid)
