What is Study Technology?

Study Technology is a set of methods you can use to enable you to study any subject successfully. Can you imagine the difference it could make in your life if you could study and actually understand ANYTHING YOU WANTED TO?

I can tell you from personal experience that it works. I've used it to keep ahead in a very technical field that is always changing and advancing (software development) and I've used it to learn other things both for pleasure and for getting things done in life.

Here is a link to a video introducing Study Technology. The link will also take you to a free online course you can take in Study Technology.

So check it out, try it out and tell me how it goes.

Real Learning and Education

This video gives you an overview of the impact and successes of the most effective method of study in existence.  I have used "Study Technology" (which is described in the video) personally to keep myself ahead in a constantly changing field (software development).  Without study technology I'd have been antiquated years ago.

Watch this video, find out more and become a success in your life and career.  If you have kids then this will help ensure they will get a great education.

Helping to keep Kids off Drugs

A great story from H.E.L.P. Miami:

Sometimes, having the city closed due to a hurricane can be beneficial. Last weekend Doris Bentz met a TV producer from MEGA TV, a Spanish-language television station based here in Florida, and gave him a DVD on psychiatry. Due to the passing storm, pretty much all South Floridians remained home for 48 hours and because he had nothing to do he watched the DVD from beginning to end.

Excited about the topic, the producer called Doris and she told him about H.E.L.P. Miami. Next we knew, we were invited to appear on the #1 Spanish public opinion TV show, 'Maria Elvira LIVE,' to talk about how we disagree with labeling and medicating children for learning disorders. The plan was for H.E.L.P. Miami staff member Luisa to go and tell her story of how Ritalin caused permanent liver damage to her son Jose and how at H.E.L.P. Jose overcame his inability to learn and is now in high school.

However, about five minutes before going on air we find out that the show had also booked a psych to counter our opinion. This poor guy had NO CLUE on what he had gotten himself into. What I love about Luisa is that she is a fighter and truthfully a room full of psychiatrists does not change one detail about how her family suffered under their care. Well, without missing a beat, Luisa went on camera and was very to the point and held her ground.

During the show, video of Columbine ran on the background monitors displayed behind the guests, which did nothing for the psych and his defense of using drugs to treat study problems. Doris was also a guest and between Doris and Luisa the psych just appeared dull and his points were weak at best. The producer was so happy with the 'controversy' that he wants to do a whole week of psych confrontations!

Well done Luisa and Doris! The nationwide show was seen by millions in the US and Puerto Rico. I got a call the next day from a woman who did NOT medicate her child for learning disorders but was not sure if she made the right decision...after seeing the show she called to thank us, as she now knew what she did was right!

Scientology Volunteer Ministers in Africa

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour in Africa is helping hundreds of teachers and students in Ghana by teaching them Study Technology. The VMs use the Scientology Handbook to teach people all sorts of skills that they will need to succeed in life and to handle the many catastrophes, large and small, that people hit in life.

The life of a 15 year old Scientologist

Here is an interview with Mickey, an Italian teenager who is also a Scientologist. Raise by Catholic and Scientologist parents she has a tolerant attitude toward religions. Schooled in study technology, she speaks three languages and can read recipes in a fourth (she wants to be a Chef).

Here is her story: "It takes smarts to think for yourself- it only takes a semi-good memory to act like everyone else."

Student that "cannot learn" wins at HELP Miami

Here is a wonderful story from HELP Miami of a "problem" child who jumped three grades in four weeks.

Summer school has been in session for just four weeks and in that time H.E.L.P. Miami has done what 10 years of schooling could not for one of our students... we got a him to learn. (And oh my DOG...it was sooo simple!) I met this 10th-grader in June. He had failed the grade, which was just another loss in a chain of educational upsets. When he was younger, he was labeled and medicated against his will and his academics and attitude got worse. So here is this hopeless teenager in my office being "ordered" to summer school and not very happy about his situation. When I asked him and his mother why he was put on medication their answer was that he was "bored in school." (Can you imagine...a 10-year-old boy...bored...in school...being the basis of a "mental disorder"?) I probably should be put in a straight jacket with my viewpoint on modern education! Anyway, the boy has struggled and struggled and now is being held back because he failed a class. He tested out around 5th grade in most of his subjects and was put on a study program addressing grammar and English (the class he failed). The end of his first week in summer school, he came into my office and said that he FINALLY understood Shakespeare! The second week he cleared up misunderstandings in grammar and handled a few things in math as well. This week he retested and has gone up three full grade levels in reading and language arts! He says he is learning...ACTUALLY learning! And get this...he is having fun! OH MY DOG! A STUDENT LEARNING SOMETHING AT SCHOOL...THAT'S CRAZY!!! Anyway, he is happy and so is his mother!

A "Scientology" School

There seems to be a lot of hullabaloo about the school that Will Smith and his wife Jada are opening. Because the school uses the study technology developed by L. Ron Hubbard some news reports are calling it a "Scientology" school.

My guess is they are calling it that for two reasons:
  • Ignorance
  • So they can make it sound "Controversial" to "sell more papers"
Neither reason is forgivable. Both reasons are a betrayal of the public trust given to the media and a threat to freedom of speech. Every inaccurate report in the media gives fuel to those who wish to curb that right.

The school does not teach Scientology. So how can it be called a "Scientology School"?

What these inaccurate and misinformed reports do is merely obscure the most effective study methods developed since a Greek philosopher stood before a group of interested students and began to expound his ideas.

Think about it: Our teaching methods have not changed in thousands of years.

2,500 years ago in the Gold Age of Greece there were four primary teaching methods:
  • Stand in front of a group and tell them stuff
  • Write a book and have others read it
  • Get your students together and have them discuss ideas
  • Show someone by example how to do something
We are still using these four basic methods today. Modern technology has merely expanded on these so you can video the guy who is telling stuff or showing how to do stuff so he doesn't have to stand in front of the group, you can make the book come to life in a video or a Power Point presentation and your students can video conference so they don't have to be in the same physical location to discuss ideas.

These methods are good methods and have helped us produce our current civilization but what about the poor guy who "just can't get it"? The answers of the existing methods are: "you are stupid" or "you are not smart enough" or "get it or you will fail the class" or "if you fail you won't get that well paid job." or "you will end up flipping burgers for a living" or "you have a learning disability, take this drug so you won't worry about it." These are "blame the student" or "threaten the student" type solutions and are not very helpful.

Study Technology has solutions to those things which stop you from understanding and being able to apply what you are studying. The problems of leaning and education have been solved in Study Technology. That is a bold statement to make, but from personal experience I can tell you that it is a true statement.
