Prediction of Human Behavior

Science of Survival: Prediction of Human Behavior
I recently saw the movie Breach, inspired by the true story of the greatest security breach in U.S. history. What I found most interesting was the fact that this guy, Robert Hanssen, was able to go undetected for about 20 years, all the while passing US secrets to the USSR and later to post-communist Russia. He was responsible for the deaths of at least 50 US agents and handed over huge amounts of other extremely sensitive information which caused so much damage that it still can't be estimated.

There is a book by L. Ron Hubbard on the prediction of human behavior, called "Science of Survival", in which Ron goes into great detail on how to predict who you can trust, what you can expect from people and how you can help them improve.

In watching the movie and observing the characters it was obvious to me that if anyone in the FBI, who worked with Hanssen for all those years, had read Science of Survival, they would have spotted him long ago. He had many characteristics of the sort of person you cannot trust and I thought it was kind of sad that so many people died and so much damage was done by this guy when a little knowledge could have prevented him from carrying out his destructive impulses and he could probably have been helped to lead a better life.

So if you don't want to be caught out by a Robert Hanssen, read Science of Survival and listen to the accompanying lectures: Science of Survival - Prediction of Human Behavior.

I think I'm going to get a copy of that book eventually and read it. I have clients I work with on a daily basis that believe me, some of them SHOULDN'T be trusted LOL..(Can you believe THAT statement from a real estate agent..?)... and honestly, in the course of my work, sometimes untrustworthy people can Really bring you down, at least mentally speaking...

The only thing I read about in a comment from Wikipedia about this book is that L.Ron basically supported "mass exinction" by saying he agreed with the actions of a President a while ago from Venezuela.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science_of_Survival
Now Grahame, I am not taking sides, if you'd like, I would just like to hear your opinion... I do have to say that I find that the government's previous "fears" and percieved prejudices about L. Ron Hubbard were slightly laughable...

Thanks
Jim

The Wikipedia article is inaccurate. In one paragraph of a 500+ page book L. Ron Hubbard mentions that some South American dictator ended leprosy in his country by killing off beggars. It was a "passing comment", he doesn't condone what the guy did and if you read the other 99.99% of the book you will understand that Ron's viewpoint is that no matter how bad a person is, he or she can be helped to improve.

Science of Survival is about predicting human behavior, but from the viewpoint of predicting it so you can help the person. As a sort of side benefit the data in the book also gives you vital information on how to survive better yourself by being able to predict the behavior of others.
