What is an "Illegal PC"?
Darren asked What is an "Illegal PC"?
It's a term used to refer to someone who, due to psychiatric abuse, is in a state which makes it unwise for them to receive Scientology Auditing. They have been so messed up by damaging psychiatric treatments, such as electro-convulsive treatment (ECT), brain operations or the use of damaging psychiatric drugs, that any attempt to assist them spiritually in a way that has them looking inward is liable to push them over the edge.
It is not a permanent status. There are things a person can do to demonstrate that they have recovered sufficiently that they can safely receive Scientology Auditing, at which point they can.
In the meantime, they participate in all the other services and practices of Scientology.
Definitions:
Illegal = in this usage of the word, it does not refer to the laws of the land, but to the rules of Scientology Churches. "Illegal" in this sense means a violation of Church rules, for example, it is against the rules to audit someone who has not sufficiently recovered from abusive psychiatric treatment, so it is called "illegal".
PC = Pre-Clear = a person who has not yet achieved the State of Clear and is undergoing or planning to undergo Scientology Auditing with the goal of achieving the state.
I hope that answers your question, Darren.

Church of Scientology Moscow Grand Opening

Yet another new Church of Scientology just opened, this time in Moscow. That makes 20 such churches opened in the last five years.
We have quite a bit of slang in Scientology and one such bit is "org". It's short for "organization" and means a Church. The new org in Moscow is an "Ideal Org", meaning that it was architected and designed from the ground up as an ideal center for Scientology in its area.
There has been a Church of Scientology in Moscow since 1993, but this newly opened building is much bigger than the previous one and is, as I mentioned, an "Ideal Org".
You can read about it here: Church of Scientology Opens New Church
in the Heart of Moscow, see what Russian dignitaries and members of the government had to say and see a ton of pictures of the ceremony and the new building.
I'll leave you with what a member of the Russian Federation’s Public Chamber had to say at the grand opening: “Scientologists work to see that all have the right to thought, to practice religion and to rejoice. You work to see that all people have the right to assemble, the right to establish and support their own churches and organizations; that they have the freedom to think for themselves and to the expression of their thoughts and ideas. These freedoms are the very manifestation of the individual spirit. So it is important that we rejoice today, for this is a glorious day in the name of freedom for all of Russia.”

Record Number of New Ideal Scientology Churches Opened in 2010
2010 was an amazing year for Scientology expansion. You can read an article and watch a whole bunch of videos. Go to this page Scientology Opens Record Number of New Churches Around the World in 2010, and below the video you will see a band of pictures. Click any one of the pics and a video of the grand opening of that Church will play.
There are videos of Brussels, Los Angeles, Mexico City and the list just goes on and on. The number of dignatories, government and academic speakers at these grand openings alone is impressive, but the things they have to say are even more so.
Watch the videos and see for yourself that this expansion is not just for the benefit of Scientologists, but is also for the benefit of the cities, states and countries in which these Churches are situated and that it all adds up to benefit for all of mankind, because that's what we Scientologists are all about - making a better world for everyone.
Have a great 2011, I know the Church of Scientology will!

Scientologists: Looking after your human rights
Your Human Rights are listed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. But do you know what they are? Does your government allow you those rights? Or better yet, does your government enforce those rights?
Those rights were put into document form after World War II and were ratified in 1948 by the United Nations General Assembly. They are rights that had to be fought for. It's pretty obvious that if the Nazis had won WWII these rights would never have seen the light of day.
So it is up to each one of us to keep these rights alive by knowing what they are and insisting they be applied by our governments.
Churches of Scientology and their members all around the world are very active in making human rights known and insisting on their application. Just a couple of weeks ago Churches of Scientology in 14 countries joined forces with Youth for Human Rights International to conduct a global petition drive in support of human rights education. You can read about it here: Churches of Scientology: Petition Targets Human Rights Education.

Scientology in South Africa

So much expansion is going on in Scientology right now that it's hard to keep up with it all, so although I knew about the opening of the new Life Improvement Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa, I didn't know that it is the biggest such center in the world!
Well done to all the guys in South Africa who worked so hard to bring it about.

Scientology: Expanding all over the place

I'm a bit late in reporting this, but another big, bright and bustling Church of Scientology was opened last week in Seattle.
There has been a church in Seattle for 54 years, but the new building was needed because they grew out of the old one.
You can read more details here: Church of Scientology Dedicates New Building for the Pacific Northwest

Dianetics: 60th Anniversary

May 9th, 1950 was the day that the book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health was published.
Who would have thought, when it was published, that this book would become the genesis of a world-wide religion with over 8,600 Churches, Missions and affiliated groups, spanning 165 countries?
So what is Dianetics?
The earliest writings on the subject described it like this:
To celebrate the anniversary, for the next few days I will be writing about Dianetics so you gain a deeper understanding of what it is and how it might help you and those you love.

The earliest writings on the subject described it like this:
Derived from the Greek word for thought, dianoia. A term employed to embrace the science of thought and including a family of sub-sciences by which the individual and collective activities of mankind may be understood and predicted and bettered. - L. Ron HubbardThe discoveries that came out of Dianetics led to the applied religious philosophy of Scientology and all the expansion described above.
